Places, mountains, attractions

Greetings from the summit at 3.000m

There’s no question: the Kitzsteinhorn, is an impressive, striking peak in Tauern (and the only 3,000-metre peak in Salzburger Land). Holidaymakers have all-year-round access to this alpine adventure world of the high mountains. The panoramic mountain Schmittenhöhe attracts hikers & winter sports enthusiasts. The Maiskogel is the family mountain of the region – with many attractions such as the all-year toboggan run “Alpine Coaster Maisi Flitzer”. Also worth a trip are the high mountain reservoirs of Kaprun, the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the Hohe Tauern National Park, the panoramic platform TOP OF SALZBURG, Kaprun Castle, the Elisabeth Chapel “Sisi Chapel” on the Schmittenhöhe, the lidos of Zell am See-Kaprun, museums and countless other attractions in Salzburg Land.
